Distinguishing Features of Class
The Village of Mundelein is seeking applicants for the position of Accountant. This position is responsible for maintaining the fiscal records and system of the Village, including serving as a backup for Accounts Payable and Utility Billing. This position performs daily and monthly general ledger processes and prepares the required year-end audit schedules, and other special projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, preferably with at least two (2) years of accounting experience, or any combination of relevant education and experience to perform the position's responsibilities successfully.
Salary and Benefits
Starting salary for this position is $79,202. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to advance a step within the salary range on an annual basis. The Village offers a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, flexible spending account, enrollment into the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) pension system, vacation time, float days, holiday, and sick time.
