VINA’s mission is to provide quality, affordable dental care to Livingston County residents with limited finances and little to no access to dental care while upholding the professional standards of dentistry in a concerned and compassionate way.
Job Description:
Assist the Executive Director in areas of marketing (including social media platforms, website, print and electronic newsletters and releases, graphics), data entry and software management.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, empathetic, collaborative and creative. The Marketing/Development Assistant works on a variety of marketing and fundraising needs, including social media, email marketing, fundraising and networking events, grant writing, data entry and more. This position is great for individuals looking to gain experience in the nonprofit, fundraising and/or marketing field.
The Marketing/Development Assistant reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing social media strategies on various platforms
- Creating and updating content for electronic and print communications, including social media, newsletters, brochures, press releases and marketing materials
- Assist in developing relationships with Livingston County media outlets
- Make website changes as necessary (WordPress software)
- Assist with fundraising activities including marketing and day-of event support
- Assist with donor communications, tracking and reporting via DonorPerfect database
- Assist with grant writing, reporting and tracking
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Minimum requirements include:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Expertise in social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
- Experience working with Constant Contact (or other email marketing software) and MS Office (specifically Word, Excel and Publisher)
- Experience and/or a background in communications, media, marketing, fundraising or website development is a plus
Hours:
Minimum of 15 hours per week, up to 20 on occasion. Hours can be flexible depending on the needs of the organization.
Rate:
$15.00 per hour as an employee
This position would be ideal for someone with an interest in strengthening skills in the realm of marketing, communications, fundraising and social media through working with an established and innovative non-profit.
