Department: Dining Services FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
This Dining Services Employee is responsible for two areas in the kitchen. This dynamic position prepares delicious meals of the highest quality that will delight residents, guests, and employees of the community with their taste and timely delivery. In addition, this employee ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of all china, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, floors, walls, vents, and equipment used by the culinary brigade.
Requirements
Essential Job Functions:
• Work as part of the team within your department and across the Community
• Learn resident preferences to provide exemplary customer service
• Look for opportunities to exceed resident expectations and enhance resident satisfaction
• Clean and inspect galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation
• Maintain records or meals served and records of food and supplies used as required
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working
• Look for ways to reduce costs and create efficiencies on a daily basis
• Monitor residents’ well-being in a general way and report any changes in condition to the appropriate Employee/department immediately
• Adhere to all regulations, laws and Valeo standards, including the Employee Handbook
• Understand and support the community sales process
• Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:
Education/Experience:
• High school graduate preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Ability to fully support kitchen brigade Employees
• Possesses understanding of Mise en Place, Strives for continuous improvement
Special Requirements/Certifications:
• Must have Food Handler’s certification as required
