What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Director of Service position at VINFEN?

The Associate Director of Service will assist in providing leadership for the planning, development, and implementation of program services for a segment of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Division (PRD) programs, including Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS). Exercise significant judgment and initiative; anticipate and positively react to clinical, organizational, and administrative issues and concerns from internal and external constituents. Assist in ensuring high quality, day, and/or clinical rehabilitation support services for a segment of the organization's programs.
The essential job duties/responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the information listed below:
- Direct and manage the activities of ACCS Team Leaders, Assistant Team Leaders, Residential Directors, Program Directors and other clinical, management, and direct service staff in the work group. Hire staff appropriate to the position. Use staff abilities appropriately with the goal of optimizing effort and achieving programmatic goals and operational excellent.
- Manage staff performance to an assigned subset of the area's managers. Provide direction, training, and coaching; conduct performance planning and review sessions; provide guidance on career development. Apply counseling, disciplinary, and corrective action programs, as necessary.
- Assist in the development of contract budgets. Assist in the analysis of expense and revenue reports; justify variances; track and resolve issues in conjunction with Team Leaders, Program Directors, and finance staff, including making program adjustments when necessary.
- Provide leadership to the area management staff in regulatory, accreditation, and quality improvement activities.
- Assist in the implementation and provide leadership to Divisional Communities of Practice that relate to the ACCS model and Team Leader role.
- Assist in the development of new programs and initiatives. Assist and participate in the development of contract/grant proposals to expand funding base.
- Gather and analyze data, including for utilization management; manage initiatives and projects as assigned by divisional leadership.
- Present at professional conferences and workshops and prepare articles for professional journals. Provide consultation to other parties, as needed.
- Liaison with funding agencies regarding fiscal, administrative, and service related issues.
- Assist in the development of systems and procedures for the effective and efficient operation of the work group.
- Assist in providing ongoing communication to field managers.
- Maintain and enhance staff knowledge on human services issues and trends, such as techniques and tools available -- particularly licensed staff.
- Provide coverage for the Vice President/Director of Service, as needed.
- Perform other related duties, as required.
