Job Summary and Responsibiities
This position is for a member of the electronics engineering department at Vintage Air. Vintage Air is a manufacturing company that has been producing performance air conditioning systems and accessories for hot rods, muscle cars, classic cars, and classic trucks since 1976. We are looking for highly-skilled candidates to provide support to our engineering department in the release of new products and support of existing ones.

This technician should be knowledgeable, capable, and comfortable completing the following tasks:
- Building and testing prototypes of new circuitry, wire assemblies, and control boxes according to specifications demonstrated in schematics, drawings, diagrams, and instructions
- Conducting research with engineering
- Assisting in product installation into vehicles
- Developing, installing, troubleshooting, and testing product, engineering test equipment, and systems, along with maintaining logs to document this.
- Writing instructions for testing, rework, or other deviation procedures
- Assisting engineering in coordinating or conducting quality control/assurance programs, including first article testing and batch inspection for potentially defective parts
- Assisting in training for new product releases to production
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing of test equipment in production
- Aiding in general engineering and electronics support as needed by the company
Experience and Requirements
- We are looking for an individual with excellent attention to detail, who can thrive collaboratively and independently, can reason critically, is motivated, and is quick to learn our unique equipment, processes, and products.
- Skilled in SMT, through-hole soldering
- Proven experience and success in at least 6 of the 9 job responsibilities listed above
- Able to read technical manuals and learn to operate new lab tools and equipment
- Prefer experience with electronics design softwares, including Altium and Solid Works
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be skilled with basic hand and power tools
- Must have a positive attitude and dependable transportation and be organized, neat, and maintain a safe working environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently communicate with coworkers, move about inside the facility, operate equipment, place/position parts throughout the facility, and position self to reach inventory on low and high shelves. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to identify part numbers on bins, recognize signage throughout the facility, and detect any warning lights or signals. Employee is working in an air conditioned office for a majority of the time but will have to work in a non-air conditioned facility for training, vehicle installations, and other job tasks.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be working around moving mechanical parts or machines. The employee must follow proper required safety procedures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with hearing protection provided as needed/required.
