We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and experienced Accounting Specialist!  SUMMARY:  Under minimal supervision, performs standard accounting clerical duties in the areas of Accounts Payable, Posting Sales of various departments, assisting with Event Billing, and making bank deposits. May prepare and verify various standard entries for financial data processing system; reconciles report discrepancies and problems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Invoice and data entry, verification of information on P.O.’s and coding to general ledger Drafting of payments and processes checks for distribution to vendors Maintains accurate vendor records Works with personnel and vendors via written correspondence and telephone conversations to resolve discrepancie Processes 1099's to recipients at year end Make daily bank runs Input all voids, stop pays and manual checks as requested Completes credit application Process Travel Agent Commissions Work on special projects as assigned Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports Billing of events, as well as communicating with director of sales Assisting departments with inventory counting and entering data in excel  Other duties may be assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.  Ability to perform routine mathematical/accounting principles.   REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.   COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Quickbooks accounting software.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office software.   OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Skills in AR/AP with a medium to large company or equivalent.  Must have a valid CA Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.   Compensation Range: $26.00 - $30.00/hour.   Benefits: Complete benefits package and generous company discounts.  401(k) Medical, Dental and Vision Health insurance Vacation, Holiday and Sick Paid time off Generous employee discount  Schedule: Position will work onsite Monday through Friday.
