What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brake Press Operator position at VIP Staffing?

PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR

1st Shift Pay is based on experience
  • checking all dimensions, punch locations, and hole diameters using calipers, height gages, etc. Promptly reporting any discrepancies to the lead man or supervisor .
  • Shearing jobs, verifying conditions, thicknesses, and grain direction per shear list specifications
  • Pulls and sets progressive and transfer dies per the tool sheet or shop traveler / router
  • Load coil material and sets proper feed, speed, lubrication , air blow, sensors and ejectors .
  • Tagging non-conforming material with all information requested for proper analysis and disposition. Moving the non- conforming parts to the inspection hold area.
  • Checks finished parts for unacceptable burrs, replacing tools if required to achieve the desired quality .
  • Ensures all machine parameters are set according to the type and thickness of material to be processed .
  • review routing to determine the next work station for the parts and moving them to the right station when done operation is complete .
operates forklift while moving material in a safe manner.

  • must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
