Job Summary:

Gate, Video Surveillance. and Access Control Technician
We have an immediate opening for a Gate, Video Surveillance and Access Control Technician to travel for service and installation projects. Daily travel and some overnight travel is required.

Viper Security Technologies, Inc is a locally owned and operated company who values each team member.

We are in search of an experienced Electronic Security Technician to provide service to new and existing clients. At least 2 years of experience is necessary for this position as you will need troubleshooting skills in the following areas: (Video Surveillance -Analog and IP, Access Control, Network and Gate Systems). You will diagnose and repair electronic control systems of a variety of electronic and digital control systems. You will need the ability to test different types of systems. Ability to use manuals and tech support as needed.

Here is what a typical day might look like as a Security System Technician:

• Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, new installation, and preventative maintenance of security systems (Video Surveillance Systems, Access Control and Gate systems) you will see something new every day!
• Drive to and from customer sites as needed.
• Complete work orders before leaving job sites on your phone, tablet or laptop computer.
• Overnight travel will be required at times.

Here are some of the skills we’re looking for in a Security Technician:

• A thorough knowledge and understanding of Access Control, Video Surveillance Systems (IP Video & Analog Video) and Gate Systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and service Video Surveillance Systems, Access Control Systems and Gate Systems Independently -must have 2 years previous troubleshooting experience
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to pull wire and terminate
• Responsible for installing Access Control, Cameras, TV's and Gate Systems
• Ability to lift over 50lbs. (Ladders, heavy equipment ect.)
• Current/Valid Driver’s License and safe driving skills
• Ability to travel overnight
• Clean background, will have to pass a comprehensive criminal background check to perform work in the security industry according to the rules and regulations enforced by the State of GA.
• Vocational/Technical Degree in electrical, security or computer systems preferred or equivelan experience
• Mechanical aptitude and be able to use hand and power tools
• Knowledge of structured cabling methods
• Proficiency with computer hardware components and software packages a plus
• Excellent Customer Service Skills
• Excellent Troubleshooting Skills
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
