This position is expected to develop, evaluate, and implement employer recruitment and outreach efforts for degree and non-degree programs at the College and will be responsible for working with hiring managers, business leaders and other external partners to raise awareness of NOVA’s talent pipeline at all levels, with an emphasis on internships and early career opportunities. Responsible for design and utilization
of data to support and execute efforts.
This position is part of the Business Engagement Center, and reports to the Director of Employer Recruiting Programs. Manager supports employer career programming by coordinating outreach efforts to identify, engage, and retain employer contacts that will result in the recruitment of NOVA students and alumni. Collaborate with internal teams and effectively work with cross-functional teams to develop partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Supervises Recruiting Events Coordinator and Guaranteed Interview program staff, Coordinates Employer Relations, Manages Employer Recruitment Events, provides Data Collection and Analysis and provides Performance Management of the team.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Ability to strengthen existing employer relationships and expand employer outreach to meet the demand of students and the growth of Northern Virginia economy.
- Capable of effectively using office systems (namely, Symplicity) and other tools and resources to produce effective reporting of recruiting and hiring trends and outcomes
- Ability to work with colleagues across the College, as well as external stakeholders to promote and implement priorities for job and internship recruitment.
- Possess familiarity with employment information and labor market data for job and internship opportunities, as well as trends in career development, effective recruiting strategies, technology, and higher education networks to provide a client serviced focus to employers from federal, state and local government, as well as a cross section of industries in the region.
- Ability to supervise team members to organize, plan and evaluate recruiting events, including but not limited to career fairs, interview programs, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
- Ability to articulate the needs and concerns of historically under-represented and ethnically diverse populations
- Excellent customer service skills, to include the ability to effectively follow up and follow through
- Effective written, interpersonal and presentations skills, with small and large groups
- Effective problem-solving and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Higher Education, or other field with several years of related occupational experience working in higher education career services.
