POSITION SUMMARY:

The Property Claims Supervisor is responsible for supervising all claims activity and personnel within the Property team, ensuring efficient settlements in accordance with company procedures and standards. The Property Claims Supervisor will handle some property claims, and will assist the director of Claims with departmental policy and decision making.

Position: Full Time, Salaried opportunity with benefits Plan

Location: Richmond, VA (West Creek Campus Office)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 am-4:30 pm, schedule supports a 37.5 hr work week. Hybrid schedule is possible, after a period of in office training.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Supervise and direct the activity of the assigned claims team to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and applicable state and federal insurance regulations.
  • Ensure prompt and fair claims handling in accordance with company procedures and the laws of each state.
  • Enhance staff performance through goal setting, training and coaching.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on issues related to claims policy and processing.
  • Provide back up to the Director of Claims.
  • Provide support, be available and answer questions for representatives and handle.
  • elevated claim issues.
  • Implement and maintain office procedures for all claims handled in the team.
  • Track claims closing persistency, average paid loss and cycle time on adjusters’ claims.
  • Monitor and manage workloads.
  • Participate in peer reviews and discussions with other Managers, Supervisors, and Director of Claims.
  • Conducts Quarterly QA file reviews and implements QA team recommendations.
  • Participate in the implementation/development of procedures to increase efficiencies and implement required change.
  • Resolves customer complaints according to SOP. Monitors customer satisfaction in an effort to drive action plans for improvement.
  • Manage Personnel: Interview, hire, counsel, review performance, and develop training for each employee .
  • Discusses potential serious losses with management.
  • Investigate, estimate, and handle claims as needed to ensure prompt, fair, and accurate settlement of claims.
  • Monitor Independent Adjusters for compliance with company guidelines, accuracy and service levels.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Assist, Mentor and give guidance to other claim personnel
  • Ensure that assigned staff maintains adequate training
  • Ensure that assigned staff maintain licenses required in each state
  • Assist in training of new employees on systems, policy, and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Claims

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum two years property claims experience
  • Obtain Adjuster Licensing in all CW required states within 30 days of start date
  • Able to write Xactimate estimates up to $100,000
  • Completion of AIC, CPCU or SCLA Designation within 3 years of start date

MINIMUM SKILL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Xactimate
  • Good understanding of building components
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Strong investigation and settlement skills
  • Proficient in SOP and Regulatory Rules in all CW States
  • Able to write estimates using “Virtual Inspection” methods

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years previous property claims experience
  • Knowledge of insurance contracts
  • Knowledge of AAIS Farm Policies and Endorsements
