The Virginia Horse Center is hiring full-time and part-time candidates for the position of Facility Cleaner

Job Purpose:
The Facility Cleaning staff position involves thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all human and non-human spaces on the facility. Due to VHC being an outdoor facility there is a lot of dust and dirt, therefore, requiring continuous cleaning.

Job Duties:
Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Clean buildings by emptying trash, sweeping hallways and stairwells, cleaning and disinfecting surfaces
  • Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants
  • Steam-clean carpets
  • Use cleaning solutions
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
  • Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean
  • Apply wax to coat floors and buff
  • Set up chairs and tables for VHC events
  • Identify and report possible repairs on sinks, toilets, and facility items

Qualifications and Skills:
High School diploma or GED
2 to 3 years’ custodial experience
Communication
Teamwork
Multi-task

The facility cleaning job is physically demanding and involves a lot of standing, walking, lifting, and moving items that are up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
