Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for a Chemo Education Nurse to join our Norfolk office.

Assess patient and family needs and learning styles
Communicates all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician or advanced practice provider in a timely manner.
Document all elements of care.
Create an environment that promotes continuous learning.
Advocate to identify information gaps and patient concerns.
Prepare patients and care providers for upcoming treatment.
Teach patients and their families about prevention and management of medical situations such as toxicity recognition and management.
Obtain treatment consent from patients.
Hybrid role providing services in both outpatient and remote settings.
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education required, BSN preferred.
Oncology experience strongly preferred.
Current RN state license required.
Current BCLS certification required.
