The adjunct instructor position requires teaching 10-24 hours weekly of intensive English for academic purposes in the Advantage VT program. Instructors will uphold a leadership role in the future direction of the program and in curriculum planning. Qualified and experienced EAP faculty are a critical component in providing students opportunities for success and are integral to the team approach we take in preparing students for university study. During the time between sessions, instructors will handle pre- and post-term obligations
Required Qualification
● Master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, or very closely related field with a TESOL certificate (minimum 18 credit hour)
● Considerable experience teaching a variety of university ESL/EAP courses, levels, and skills
● Demonstrated ability to use the latest technology and teaching techniques
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with integration of technology in the classroom including learning management systems (e.g.,
Canvas)● Knowledge of and experience with curriculum design and evaluation
● Understanding of the US University system and environment and of the demands that international students will face in undertaking undergraduate level study
● Excellent oral and written communication skills
● International work experience
● Proficiency in a foreign language
