Lead Production Planner

Job Overview: As the Lead Production Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective planning of production operations. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive production plans, scheduling resources, and coordinating activities to meet production targets while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain production plans in alignment with sales forecasts, customer demand, and inventory targets.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sales, operations, procurement, and logistics to gather relevant information and ensure seamless execution of production plans.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to generate production schedules, monitor work orders, and track inventory levels.
• Analyze production capacity, resource availability, and lead times to identify constraints and optimize production schedules.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components to support production schedules.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, and inventory turns, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Lead and mentor a team of production planners, providing guidance, support, and training as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment, with some experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling methodologies, capacity planning, and inventory management principles.
• Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead a team.
