Function/Team Summary
The Visa Developer Platform is the foundation on which the future of Visa is being built. Started in 2016 with a handful of products and clients, VDP has exploded in growth exceeding 3 billion API calls each month and 1000s clients. VDP is the face of Visa’s digital strategy and is comprised of a developer portal, API gateway, Platform Tools, and service components used to enhance product and client experiences. Job Description/Essential Functions
The Director of Product Onboarding will be managing the team that defines product strategy for Visa’s digital channel. This individual and their team will work on gathering requirements from clients and internal partners, influencing partner team strategy, working to ensure priority products are delivered to market, defining our product roadmap, and executing on that vision.
As a Director, you will be need to grow your team to be a highly-functioning positive group of product experts. You will have technical aptitude and business acumen to develop business requirements and guide the development of our product onboarding platform. Your platform focuses on expediting time-to-market for everything in Visa’s digital portfolio and centers around a core tenant of self-service.
She/He will possess strong communication and leadership skills. This individual will multitask and keep technology, design, product and other teams on track to bring our client experiences to life on our digital properties. They should be a self-starter with strong upward management, executive presence and communication.
Specifically, the Director will:
· Grow our Product Onboarding team and create a highly-functioning positive group of product experts
· Gain detailed understanding of product and client onboarding needs
· Reimagine capabilities as company-wide horizontal services
· Own, manage, and execute the process to improve our onboarding platform that enables self-service and faster time to market for our product organization
- Partner with Technology to develop detailed requirements for all enhancements and roadmap items
- Lead cross functional workstreams as part of multi-year strategic plan for our platforms to reduce inefficiencies and develop more streamlined and self-service options for clients and partners.
- Provide executive communication and evangelism of all of the above.
- Manage a backlog of work, and translate experience needs from our product teams, program owners, marketing and business development teams.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6 years of work experience with a PhD
• 10 years successful post college product or program management experience
• Lead complex projects and processes with multiple stakeholders with demonstrated success
• Drive projects in collaboration with product owners and leaders of all levels
• Understands delivery of KPIs
• Extreme attention to detail
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills to synthesize and communicate complex information effectively
• Develop product strategy, go-to-market plans, and product requirements documents
• Individual works autonomously with ongoing supervision from manager and leadership
• Prioritization of features in product roadmap in partnership with technology, then execution
• Leads by influence, does not rule by hierarchy or authority
• Customer-oriented mindset, knowledgeable in all client, customer and partner roles
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Support the development of the product roadmap to define and support the product goals and strategies
• Knowledgeable on Visa’s products and support the product team in driving the development of product features and functionality, leveraging the strong foundation of existing capabilities where appropriate
• Understand and able to research market trends, competition, and user requirements (primary and secondary research methods)
• Successfully apply structured and critical thinking to ambiguous problems (small, fast-moving initiatives or large, multi-dependency initiatives). Use data to prove or disprove hypotheses and inform solutions set
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
