What we expect of you, day to day.
- Function as the champion of the Cybersecurity Identity and Access Management (IAM) program within the Cybersecurity team to develop and deliver products and services activities that deliver on the strategic plan and the requirements of IAM technical and operational functions.
- Manage a team of seasoned project managers and ensure that we streamline project management practices and relentlessly drive for continuous improvement in superb program and project execution.
- Assemble and manage cross-organizational high-performance project teams, for high complexity programs and projects, creating a collaborative environment and executing with a sense of urgency.
- Manage the annual business plans, working with the IAM management team to develop and obtain approvals for project proposals and financial forecasts.
- Manage progress against the plan providing management reports and managing the change management processes as required.
- Ensure compliance with Visa Project Management Methodology, processes, and procedures
- Navigate Visa’s organizational structure to identify impacts, stakeholders and authorities
- Use influencing abilities to drive evolution and promote operational excellence and evidencing best practices
- Lead boldly and utilize hard and soft skills to influence participants of all levels towards the common goal
- Anticipate and proactively mitigate risks and issues impacting the implementation plans
- Maintain meticulous records of project and program financials, issues, risks, decisions, schedules
- Exercise independent judgement with minimal direction from supervisor, and work independently to manage one’s time
- Independently manage and resolve ambiguity
- Ensure accountability within self and others
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD.
- Demonstrated knowledge of program and project management methodologies and best practices, software and product development lifecycles (SDLC/PDLC) required. Strong process orientation and demonstrated ability to define and document new or improved portfolio and program management processes, templates and tools, and create a wide variety of reporting mechanisms for leadership, stakeholders, and team members.
- Expert knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, financial planning, resource allocation, and production methods, with an ability to think strategically and generate solutions proactively and deliver them on deadlines.
- Proficient with project-related financial management, including variance analysis, resource forecast to actuals, capitalized vs. non-capitalized hardware and software management.
- Strong understanding of security domains, the Security Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) process Security Assessment processes, and Pen Testing and how these fit into the overall Project Portfolio process across Technology organizations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. In particular, demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to different organizational levels.
- Deep analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically.
- Strong leadership qualities, organizational and mentoring skills to provide support and constructive performance feedback as well as the ability to adapt quickly to change (e.g., changing priorities, assignments, and roles).
- Skilled in conflict management and negotiation to achieve project goals and develop trust with stakeholders.
- Proficient in Clarity PPM, Rally, Jira, Wiki, and expertise in Microsoft Office tools (Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint).
- As a member of the Technology organization, have technical savvy, with desire and ability to learn new software is a must.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD); PhD with 9 years of experience.
- Significant IAM domain knowledge and experience managing related projects.
- Hands-on experience managing large-scale business transformational projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of corporate protocol, maintains a high level of discretion and confidentiality .
- Certifications such as PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP®), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Scaled Agile Framework Program Consultant (SAFe SPC), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Stanford Advanced Senior Program Manager (SAPM), and/or Lean Six Sigma would be a plus.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
