Website Product Owner

Position Description:

You will:

• Own the multi-year roadmap and change control process for the website.

• Own the design process and standards for the website.

• Own and manage updates to the City’s Digital Style and Content Guide

• Collaborating with the vendor you will manage updates and changes to Drupal libraries.

• Work with agency content managers and designers to find user needs and ensure agency design and UX meet those needs.

• Lead design sessions to gain insights into user behavior.

• Translate user insights into digital interactions.

• Create personas and other design process artifacts through user research and data.

• Work closely with the development team to build and evaluate new experiences on the city website.

• Build trust and partnerships by working alongside agency partners.

• Help grow the City’s human-centered approaches and spread design best practices in collaboration with web professionals across City agencies.

Education and Experience: At a minimum, you have:

• Seven (7) years of technical leadership experience in complex organizations.

• Five (5) years of experience in Drupal, user experience (UX), user interface (UI), and/or service design; experience in digital is strongly preferred.

• Three (3) years of experience in Drupal including setup configuration, and site building.

• Experience with PHP, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.

• Experience designing and debugging applications and implementing Web sites in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.

• Experience working in an Agile development environment and using JIRA.

• Deep empathy and understanding of equity and inclusiveness, particularly as this shows up in technology.

• Experience implementing accessibility standards in digital products.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills

• Deep familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and agile frameworks in support of a website.

• Experience leading human-centered design workshops.

• Familiar with interaction design and information architecture

• Knowledge of front-end development is a plus.

• Strong organizational and people skills

Pay: Up to $79.00 per hour
