Character of Position
As a Tool Builder, you will be responsible for building tools or fixtures to facilitate improved efficiency and quality of end-products.
Responsibilities
- Execute build as represented in manufacturing plan and on prints for most medium and difficult complexity jobs
- Operate most manual machines including lathes, presses, grinders, and Bridgeport's
- Work on a wide variety of projects with frequent, established deadlines
- Achieve quality and production goals
- Lead 3-5-person crew, providing direction and guidance
- May have potential for travel
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines, and ITAR compliance
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Effective oral and written communications
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Self-motivated but able to take direction
- Understand and work to all QMS procedures and work instructions
- Ability to read complex blueprints
- Identify and find specifications within blueprint given
- Geometric tolerances (understand and recognize some symbols)
- Understanding of general tolerances
- Comprehend simple sections and views
- Understand reference system
- Strong understanding of Catia V5 and or Enovia
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years aerospace tooling experience
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
