About the Job:
The IT Administrator is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of IT functions as directed by the IT department manager. This includes directing all IT operations to meet the company’s requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing infrastructure, applications, and development of new technical solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create, organizes, and update IT documentation of processes, policies, licensing, inventories, and system configurations with a focus on SOC-2 and ISO9001 compliance.
- Provides end-user help desk support and specialized technical assistance to users, escalating issues as necessary.
- Systems Administration - configure and maintain servers and workstations as required.
- Research and evaluate technology, techniques, risks, and industry best practices.
- Modify and audit user rights policies and manage file server access as required.
- On/Off-boarding of employees and contractors, including collecting requirements, account and access provisioning and provide new employee ‘welcome’ briefings.
- Monitor systems performance and develop recommendations to improve or enhancement operations.
- Manage and monitor malware/anti-virus systems as needed.
- Configure, manage, and monitor IDS/IPS systems.
- Perform hardware and software updates and to ensure systems are up to date.
- End user hardware and software training.
- Administration of an Exchange Online environment including user provisioning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Work with other staff to assess and respond to IT needs.
- Communicate IT plans, tasks, and modifications to relevant stakeholders.
- Development – write code, reports, scripts as required.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Willingness to serve on planning, security, disaster recovery, and policy-making committees.
- Ensure the continual functioning of mission critical operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes:
- Broad knowledge of information technology systems, concepts, and methodologies (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, Subnets, etc.).
- Aptitude for researching and learning new technologies.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Familiarity with cloud-based services (specifically Microsoft Azure)
- Familiarity with mobile user access (VPNs), and remote access technologies (IPSec) in a multi-site environment.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to stay calm and focused during stressful events.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or 4 years equivalent experience.
- Experience administrating a Microsoft Exchange environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Server 2019 and higher. Specifically Active Directory, Group Policy, and Hyper-V.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows end-user (Windows 10 and 11) installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Recommended/Preferred:
- Ability to interpret an extensive range of technical information and instructions.
- Previous structured IT project management experience.
- Experience in technical operations management and/or an equivalent combination of training.
- Database Administration – maintain and modify databases as needed.
- Experience with print management systems, digital printing technologies, or pre-press operations.
- Professional certifications.
- Print ePS Monarch suite experience.
- Previous experience with Web to Print solutions (MarketDirect StoreFront, Pageflex, Infigo)
