Responsibilities of Physical Therapist include:
- Clinical assessment and treatment of patients referred by a licensed physician.
- Coordinate and communicate treatment activities with health care team members and the patient.
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) and contribute to the professional development of new staff and health professional students.
- Evaluate patient’s needs for physical therapy and develop appropriate treatment plan.
- Provide appropriate care and treatment to patients based on physician care plan, agency policy, and professional standards of care.
- Instruct family members, PTA’s, Home Health Aides, and other caregivers in appropriate physical therapy techniques.
- Coordinate physical therapy progress with other caregivers and ensure appropriate physical therapy techniques.
- Refer patients to other professionals or agencies when appropriate.
Qualifications of Physical Therapist include:
- Must possess an active PT license or be license eligible in both VT and NH.
