VNA Health Group is a premiere Medicare/Medicaid-certified provider of home health, hospice, and community-based services. We’ve been serving families and individuals with the most advanced and comprehensive clinical home care in NJ since 1912.
We are currently looking for a WIC Lactation Consultant to join our team. The position would be responsible for providing breastfeeding education and support to WIC customers and handling complex lactation scenarios.
Responsibilities
Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of the job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
Delivers a high level of customer service to assure a positive patient experience
Applies the principles of routine and complex lactation management and current research in the home, WIC sites, hospital, clinics, and community
Provides assistance to WIC Peer Counselors in clinic settings as needed
Works creatively with WIC staff and community agencies serving WIC customers to assure effective and efficient breastfeeding promotion and support
Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance\
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Board certified Lactation Consultant with current IBCLC certification
Ability to relate to culturally diverse populations
Has reliable transportation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills
Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Busy clinic environment at various locations; community based clinics, hospital settings and home visitation. Ability to transport work related supplies.
