What is Private Duty Nursing?
Private Duty Nursing is one-on-one care in the home for clients with specialized healthcare needs who require continuous hourly nursing care, up to 16 hours per day.
What do PD nurses do?
- Provide One-on-one care and patient interaction
- Vital signs and physical assessments
- Administration of medications and treatments (as prescribed by physician)
- Documentation of patient's ongoing condition
- G-tubes, trach and vent care possible
Training:
