What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Planner II position at Viskase Companies Inc.?
- Receives purchase order directly from customer. Reviews purchase order and determines production location based on product type and Plant capacity/inventory constraints. Instructs Plant to initiate production; prioritizes production lineup according to order size and customer importance. Routes completed purchase order to Customer Service Department for entry into SAP system.
- Conducts production modeling using legacy customer order data. May instruct Plant to initiate production based on legacy customer trends in anticipation of future orders.
- Continuously monitors Plant raw materials inventory and coordinates replenishment/procurement as needed. Schedules and monitors semi and finished goods inventory levels for current and new items. Reviews and updates production schedules based on customer order sales demand. Interfaces with Product Marketing/Sales and Operations to improve forecast accuracy.
- Analyzes product demand patterns, trends, and seasonality to establish appropriate inventory levels. Monitors inventory levels and notes discrepancies or unusual trends.
- Develop and maintain production/purchasing plans that meet established customer service targets and inventory goals.
- Develop and implement a 30-day production schedule for finished goods and dependent demand requirements for SKU’s assigned, ensuring that the schedule supports sales goals and inventory financial targets, and minimizes product age and obsolescence.
- Analyze and evaluate current manufacturing capacities to determine when additional capacity is required to support sales demand; raise the concern to management to seek capacities from sister companies.
- Maintain finished goods inventory targets for assigned items/customers.
- Develop and maintain system supply planning parameters settings and attributes to develop a feasible rough-cut production plan
- Assist in risk assessment and mitigation activities.
- Schedule daily/weekly review meetings with production schedulers on late production orders; identify the reason for the delay, current status and the new production finish date, and update on the production scheduling report.
- Identify areas of improvements and recommend action plans.
- Maintains constant communication with customer via email and phone as appropriate. Expedites freight as needed to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Immediately notifies supervisor of issues with production equipment that could impact customer order fulfillment.
- May work with CSR/Distribution to schedule global ship dates and to set up container shipments.
- May be required to travel to Company Plants, Distribution Centers, or customer facilities as needed.
- Perform other Supply Chain activities as assigned.
Experience
Required- 2 - 5 years: Experience in production planning and inventory management
Education
Preferred- Bachelors or better in Logistics /Supply Chain Management or related field
Licenses & Certifications
