Job Profile
Flight Operations Manager (FOM) is available in Columbus, OH. The Flight Operations Manger is responsible for a group of aircraft types, (usually from a single manufacturer). Oversees the effective management and support of the fleet to meet and maintain safety, efficiency and service standards. Acts for the Director of Operations in matters delegated or assigned to him/her and may act for him/her in his/her absence. May delegate any duty but retains responsibility.

Responsibilities:
- Report to and work closely with the Director of Operations.
- Operational Control authority as delegated by Director of Operations,
including assisting with external audits and acting as Emergency Director
as required.
- Supports the Operational Control Center as a member of the tactical team.
- Ensures all internal departmental audits are carried out on schedule and
any non-compliance is addressed.
- Defines the strategic goals of the fleet and ensures these are effectively
communicated to the Fleet Chief for execution and compliance.
- Supervise and mentor flight crew personnel on their duties.
- Responsible for the performance management of all his Fleet Chiefs.
- Manage flight crew schedules assuring the fleet has appropriate pilot
coverage.
- Interview pilot candidates and make hiring recommendations.
- Advise the Training Manager regarding training of flight crew personnel.
- Ensure that all flight operations are conducted safely, in compliance with
applicable regulations and in accordance with company policies and
procedures through close work with the DO and the Flight Operations
Admin function.
- Recommend standardization policies, levels of proficiency for flight
crewmembers, new or improved flight operations policies and practices in
part through liaison with other FOMs to align procedures across all fleets.
- Responsible for the performance management of all pilots on his fleet and
works with Fleet Chiefs to ensure all performance reviews are effectively
conducted and individual objectives are established.
Ensures all simulator training profiles are completed in accordance with
the training program in a timely manner, as defined by the Director of
Training.
- Direct the implementation of existing, new, or revised flight operations
policies and procedures.
- Ensures all logistical procedures including handover checklists,
documentation distribution and aircraft equipment distribution are
implemented and monitored effectively.
- Maintain a full understanding of Jet Edge’s GOM, OpSpecs, and applicable
Federal Aviation Regulations.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Ensures a safe and secure operation, including cabin operations, in
coordination with the Safety and Compliance Manager, the Security
Manager and the Fleet Safety Officers.
- Closely cooperates with the Safety Department to provide solutions in
setting up the necessary preventative actions to avoid incidents in the
future.
- Attends regular management meetings as described in the Safety
Management Manual.
- Communicates accidents/incidents and occurrences as he becomes
aware to the Fleet Safety Officers in a timely manner.
- Informs the Safety Department of changes which might affect safety for
which a Management of Change is required.
- Acts on actions raised in Centrik Safety Module within the due date. If not
possible, he will request a relevant motivated extension. If he disagrees on
the action raised, he may reject it by providing relevant explanations.
- Actively promotes a safe corporate culture through training and activities.
Required Experience, Qualifications, and Education:
- The FOM is required to have experience in management and same or comparable aircraft type.
- The FOM will be licensed, rated, current and experienced on one of the types under his/her oversight.
