Job Description Summary of Position: You'll play a pivotal role in helping the Product and Design teams and our cross-functional partners move faster with confidence in creating stellar product for our consumers. In this role you will help design, plan, execute and analyze research studies. You will also enable the team to run an efficient and effective research program by managing participant recruitment for research studies, helping evangelize research at CamelBak, and develop research and participant recruiting processes that enable our Insights efforts to succeed. Major Responsibilities: Help develop research plans and execute on research activities, conducting research in variety of methods Create, grow and maintain new participant panels Find, analyze and summarize existing research (market trends, Design/product/sales reports, etc.) Recruit and schedule participants for research studies Facilitate, observe and take notes during research sessions (remote interviews, in-person usability tests, etc.) Participate in data collection; synthesis and analysis of findings Collaborate with our design and product team to generate user insights and opportunities Maintain insights/research operations handbook documentation with accurate, standardized, and transparent processes and procedures Assure compliance with internal policies and applicable privacy laws Engage and communicate with participants before, during, and after studies Prepare, setup, and break down for research sessions areas Prepare sample kits and all testing materials for research activities Help ensure research materials and product will be ready for each study and participant Assist with preparing and communicating results to stakeholder teams and archiving results Schedule and coordinate external participants and internal staff Analyze incoming customer feedback and tag for the appropriate teams Keep a calendar of all Research activities Maintain and organize insight records Job Requirements/Qualifications: • strong understanding of user-centered design and be comfortable working independently and collaboratively • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research using various and appropriate user-centered design methods • Experience creating screeners, recruiting participants, observing sessions, and synthesizing results • Undergraduate degree in Design, Psychology, Anthropology, Human Factors, and/or equivalent field of study preferred • 1-2 years of UX research or Design Research experience • A portfolio of work that shows experience and knowledge in the field of Consumer Insights and User Research • A strong degree of empathy and outstanding interpersonal communication skills • Excellent organization skills and high attention to detail • Ability to produce great work in short timeframes and manage time efficiently •commitment to conducting impactful research in support of our product teams and consumers. Secondary Qualifications: Passion for outdoor recreation, fitness, and wellness. Working Conditions: As indicated by responsibilities; ability to handle multiple priorities Physical Endurance: Computer terminal use approximately 6 hours per day. Ability to occasionally field-test products, including light hiking, biking, running, snow sports. Environment: This will be hybrid position (in-office and remote), requiring physical presence in Petaluma, CA multiple days per week. Settings include: standard office, Testing Lab, and field testing.
