About the Role: The Maintenance Supervisor leads and directs Maintenance Team Members to meet the objectives of the maintenance department in a fast paced, high volume, manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Supervisor manages the maintenance personnel in a safe, effective, and efficient manner in compliance with the company policies, procedures and all legislative requirements. The selected candidate will be expected to build and sustain a system of Maintenance Management to efficiently support an available fleet of manufacturing equipment, and the facility as a whole. The Maintenance Supervisor will also be responsible for coaching, developing and directing a team of Technicians and Apprentices across a 7- day operational pattern. The individual will be expected to drive towards a world class maintenance system utilizing such programs as TPM, along with coordinating with OEM suppliers and partners for equipment performance.
What You Will Do:
- Co-ordinate and work with multiple functions to prioritize maintenance activities across the plant.
- Devise and ensure effective predictive maintenance activities and schedules with an expectation of limiting unplanned downtime.
- Maintain facility, structural, services with coordination of external stakeholders.
- Ensure facility is in alignment of any legislative and contractual responsibilities relating to the plant and equipment.
- Develop and Conduct effective Problem Solving within the Maintenance team to support associated functional challenges.
- Apply a data driven and equipment knowledge to continuously improve equipment up-time and repeatability.
- Use SAP Maintenance and any CMMS to document all maintenance activities (reactive and planned) as well as interface and provide guidance to maintenance planning activities.
- Ensure TPM schedule attainment.
- Analyze equipment performance and work to improve efficiencies; actively participate in plant goal setting.
- In alignment with a TPM approach, assess and improve equipment or process mean time between failure (MTBF), mean time to repair. (MTTR)
- Ensure a consistent and reliable Spare Parts Management system.
- Follows up on work orders to ensure job specifications (quality and quantity) and timelines are met.
- Support an effective investigation approach to any Safety or Risk Assessment findings.
- Support the development and installation of any new programs, equipment or technology.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
- Availability and openness to support the team working in different shifts on certain occasions.
- Accountable for team members performance management.
What You Need:
- 1-5 years of technical supervisory experience of medium to large teams
- Skilled Trades certificate preferred
- Knowledge of any CMMS software and SAP maintenance module preferred
- Engineering Diploma / Degree (associates degree) is preferred or equivalent experience
- Hands on experience in - Electrical/Mechanical/Controls
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety best practices for maintenance professionals (JSA, PTW, LOTOTO)
- Training in Total Productive Maintenance, precision equipment and automation
- Experience working in a zero-downtime environment, with cross functional teams
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project)
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and solve problems in an urgent manner
- Knowledge of Electrical Code, Occupational Health & Safety Standard, Local and Provincial Laws
- Possess a general level of technical understanding related to maintenance, time based maintenance (TBM), condition based maintenance (CBM), and multifaceted maintenance (DM).
