Purchasing Manager

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced purchasing manager to handle our company's procurement activities. The purchasing manager's responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities. To be successful as a purchasing manager you should be able to manage and optimize purchasing activities and processes. An outstanding purchasing manager should have excellent leadership abilities and be able to negotiate the best possible deals with suppliers.

The Purchasing Manager positon is a Full-Time position with full benefits, and does not require travel. Salary will be between $36K - $48K.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning and overseeing the work of Buyers and Purchasing Agents;
• Hiring and training new staff;
• Developing an organization’s procurement rules and regulations;
• Establishing guidelines on how often the company gets price quotes for items, the number of bids to accept, and which vendors to consider;
• Buying goods and services for the company;
• Discussing contracts;
• Keeping Books Professional;
• Organize all purchases in a way that is easily accessible and to navigate;
• Track, forecast, and report purchases;
• Create diagrams of expenses and analyze results monthly;
• Evaluating quality, price, reliability, technical support, and availability of goods and services.

Qualifications:

• 3 years experience in the manufacturing environment as a purchasing manager and in leadership roles
• Supervisory/Management experience
• Degree in Supply Chain Management/Logistics or equivalent experience;
• Demonstrated supervisory skills sufficient to lead, direct, evaluate, and mentor subordinate and peer employee staff;
• Enthusiastically takes on new opportunities and challenges and displays an optimistic “can-do” attitude in both good times and bad;
• Skilled in communicating with various personalities in a convincing and professional manner;
• Strong ability to be organized and balance several priorities;
• Able to perform various tasks as needed to complete projects.

Education: (one or more preferred)

High School Diploma/GED Bachelor in Management or a related field. Or equivalent experience
