The school is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sports Management beginning in Fall 2024.

The Opportunity: The College of Business, Leadership, and Ethics is home of the Dahl School of Business, the Center for Professional Learning, the Community Gateway Center, and the D.B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership. The Dahl School of Business seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Sport Management. We are seeking applicants with expertise in the field of Sport Management to teach in the school's undergraduate Sport Management and Leadership Program. This position offers the opportunity to conduct research, engage in impactful teaching, and contribute to the vibrant academic community. The ability to teach multiple Sport Management courses, as well as professional experience and a strong network in the sport industry are desirable. The teaching load is 4:4 with possible opportunities to teach over the summer. Courses include history of sport, finance for the sport leader, legal environment of sport, event and facilities management, and sport, recreation and event marketing. The position also requires advising sport management majors and minors, mentoring students seeking internship and job placement, fostering relationships with aligned professional organizations, assisting with curriculum management, participating in campus committees, assisting in student recruitment for the program, and engaging in the academic life of the College. Candidates must be innovative in their active learning pedagogical approach with an understanding of the skills and technological literacy required to lead in a global environment. This position places a strong emphasis on teaching, advising, scholarship, and service, embodying the core values of the university. The preferred candidate will have knowledge and experience with curriculum development. Familiarity with COSMA accreditation is preferred. A desire to contribute to the advancement of the field through involvement in professional organizations and community outreach initiatives is required.

General Requirements/Qualifications: The successful candidate shall have (1) a master's degree in sport management/administration, or closely related field, and a doctoral degree or be enrolled in a sport management/administration or closely related doctorate program, ABDs will be considered, a doctoral degree in sport management/administration is preferred, (2) college teaching experience, (3) sport industry experience, and (4) an active agenda of scholarship and professional activity in academia and/or industry. Experience with basic classroom technology is preferred. A doctoral degree is required for tenure track appointment. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
