Software architect


to strengthen our team for the groundbreaking launch of our venipuncture device in the US market. If you are passionate about crafting quality-assured software architecture with cutting-edge technologies and thrive in a collaborative, agile environment, we want to hear from you.


Your Mission

  • Pioneering Software Architecture: Ensure our device software architecture and verification strategy are primed for a successful introduction to the US market.
  • Risk Mitigation: Address and mitigate key risks within the software architecture, with a focus on machine learning, robotic software, and autonomous decision-making.
  • Work closely with four specialized software teams to deliver exceptional software using state-of-the-art technology.


Your Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure technical software documentation (architecture, requirements, and verifications) and software releases meet quality assurance criteria for our venipuncture device’s US launch.
  • Verification Strategy: Define, with the system architect, the mandatory verification and validation strategy for the device, emphasizing automation for rapid release cycles.
  • Risk Assessment: Collaborate with domain experts to define risk assessments and acceptance tests for firmware controllers, machine learning pipelines, and data management, initiating FMEA or root-cause analysis sessions when necessary.
  • Team Support: Coach and support software teams to continuously enhance design skills and verification infrastructure.
  • Roadmap Contribution: Contribute to the software roadmap for the venipuncture device for both EU and US markets.


Stretch Goals

  • Compliance Guidance: Provide guidance and training to the software team on software compliance best practices and policies.
  • Process Improvement: Introduce automated processes and design improvements to facilitate software engineers in creating quality releases.


What You Bring

  • A master’s degree in robotics, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 10 years of hands-on experience in software development and architecture, with a minimum of 3 years as a software architect.
  • Excellent writing and coaching skills, strong C design and coding skills.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Experience contributing to or performing FDA submissions (DeNovo or 510K) for medical devices with a significant software component.
  • Technical Proficiency: Written and designed software for embedded devices of a similar scale or larger than our venipuncture device.
  • Documentation Expertise: Enthusiasm for Documentation-as-Code (markdown, C4, plantuml, and others).


Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with field support and OTA updates of connected devices.
  • Previous involvement in developing software for robotic medical devices.
