OR Tech - Pecos, TX


Description

Assists in activities and institutional services in perioperative service area under the direction of a Registered Nurse and according to departmental policies. Performs “scrub” duties and specific institutional nursing services duties appropriate and authorized by the situation.

Requirements

Completion of a Surgical Technologist program.


Certification as a Surgical Technologist from NBSTSA or National Center for competency testing. A new graduate will be considered but must take certification test within 6 months of hire. Operating Room experience preferred


Certification as CPR required.


Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing when handling instruments. Lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting when moving or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless. The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.
