About the Job As part of the multidisciplinary team, this position is responsible for the care of surgical patients before and after surgery. A successful team member in this position is a team player, flexible with assignments and scheduling, and is able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Shift: four varying days: 830-1800. Call required. Highlighted Responsibilities * Management of patients from newborn to 18 years preoperatively and through phase I & II postoperative care * Management of airways: endotracheal tubes, nasal airways, oral airways and bag valve mask * Assessing & maintaining appropriate postoperative pain control * Multidisciplinary communication to ensure safe, developmentally appropriate care * Provide communication & education to families to ensure involvement & understanding in their child's care * Average day utilizes 15-20 pre-op bays and 25-33 PACU bays, while caring for 40-60 patients * Services include: Dental, ENT, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, OMFS, Neurosurgery, Plastics, Pulmonology, Urology Qualifications Experience: 2 years' RN experience in PACU or critical care Education: BSN License: TX RN License Certification: BLS About Us At Children's Health, we value the role each team member plays in helping us deliver on our mission of making life better for children.
