Role Description

This is a contract role for a Cinematographer at VMG Entertainment. The Cinematographer will be responsible for camera operation, video production, film production, cinematography, and lighting. This is an on-site role located in Atlanta, GA.



Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the director and production team to establish the visual style of the project.
  • Operate cameras, lighting equipment, and other technical gear on set.
  • Plan, set up, and shoot scenes according to the creative brief and technical requirements.
  • Adjust lighting setups to ensure proper exposure, mood, and cinematic quality.
  • Ensure shots are framed and captured with attention to detail, composition, and movement.
  • Work closely with the post-production team to maintain visual continuity and resolve any technical challenges.
  • Manage camera crew and other members of the cinematography department.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, equipment, and trends in the film industry.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cinematographer in film, television, or digital media.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a wide range of shooting styles and techniques.
  • Proficient in using various camera systems (e.g., RED, ARRI, Blackmagic, Canon, Sony, etc.).
  • Knowledge of lighting techniques and camera equipment.
  • Ability to visualize scenes and translate concepts into compelling images.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to dynamic production environments.
  • Degree in Film, Cinematography, or related field is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations for shoots.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with drone or aerial photography.
  • Knowledge of color grading and post-production workflows.
  • Familiarity with VFX integration and green screen filming techniques.
  • Experience with digital cinematography and hybrid film-digital setups.
