The Insurance Specialist day to day duties include:
- Verifies patient reimbursement eligibility requirements and coverage for Home Health Care.
- Initiates pre-certification or prior authorization for all Home Care services by calling or using insurance portals.
- Obtain re-authorizations as required by phone, fax or insurance portal.
- Coordinates benefits with in-house case manager and nursing supervisors.
- Completes daily workflow tasks assigned within our software.
- Notifies patient of their insurance coverage benefits.
- Enters appropriate insurance benefits, authorization of visits and coordination notes into the electronic record.
- Maintains insurance company information for follow up for insurance contracts.
