The Foster Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of the animals within our shelter. This position involves managing and coordinating VOCAL's foster care program, recruiting and supporting foster families, and overseeing the transition of animals from the shelter to their temporary foster homes. The Foster Coordinator collaborates with various teams at VOCAL to ensure successful placements and provides ongoing support to foster caregivers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruit and Train: Assemble a league of extraordinary foster volunteers and lead them
with engaging training sessions that are both informative and a blast!
2. Animal Health and Wellness: Be the guardian of our animals’ health, ensuring they’re
happy and healthy in their temporary homes. Plus, who doesn’t love puppy and kitten
snuggles?
3. Program Organization: Keep our foster program running smoothly. Your organizational superpowers will make a real difference!
4. Collaboration and Support: Work paw-in-hand with a team that’s as passionate about
animals as you are.
5. Communication: Maintain regular communication with foster families and address any concerns, questions, or emergencies related to foster animals. Additionally, Provide guidance on animal care, behavior, and medical needs.
