We are currently searching for experienced Senior and Mid-Level Disaster Recovery Specialists (Insurance) for our Disaster Recovery group located in the Southwest Region (Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Texas).
This position will support our state and local disaster response and recovery team with its FEMA disaster recovery efforts, working hand-in-hand with state / local government and private non-profit representatives to guide them through the Public Assistance process.
What you’ll be doing :
- Review damage and insurance to assess impacts for FEMA Public Assistance (PA) funding
- Address insurance issues as identified throughout the FEMA Public Assistance Program process, including duplication of benefits
- Inspects damaged property to include all parts of the structure, taking into consideration condition, design, construction, and land value.
- Photographs interior and exterior components and all areas of the property to document findings.
- Verifies legal descriptions in public records and uses comparable methods to determine value.
- Prepares detailed appraisal reports.
- Travel may be required or deployed to anywhere in the Southwest region
- Duration : 1 year
What you need to have :
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10 years of experience with FEMA Public Assistance or other FEMA Grant Programs (Sr. Level)
- 10 years of experience with FEMA Public Assistance or other FEMA Grant Programs (Mid-Level)
- 15 years of experience with FEMA Public Assistance or other FEMA Grant Programs (Sr. Level)
- Experience utilizing Xactimate.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply
