Provide strategic analysis and guidance for Inventory Control Team and inventory counters. Provide oversight of third-party logistics and third-party quality providers to ensure inventory processes are followed. Perform timely and accurate analysis of discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement improvement processes in order to keep the inventory at the highest level of accuracy. Plan and implement future strategies for continuously improving inventory processes.
- Lead inventory analysis to target parts that are susceptible to show inaccurate systematic inventory. Direct inventory counters to cycle count these 'overmax' parts.
- Develop annual planning and daily schedule of cycle count activity ensuring that all audit requirements are met or exceeded.
- Develop procedures and provide all instructions to the physical inventory counters or 3rd party companies. Continuously improve these procedures.
- Hire, mentor, train, and coach the inventory counter contractors.
- Act as single point of contact for 3PLs and 3PCs for resolving Inventory issues.
- Perform timely and extensive analysis of inventory transactions, using all available resources to identify root causes and supply possible solutions. Monitor and audit IM system transactions performed by all parties at VW Chattanooga (including third-party logistics and third-party quality providers).
- Perform daily inventory adjustment, working in conjunction with Finance to ensure all job transactions are accurately recorded.
- Provide accurate information for internal and external auditors.
- Create and maintain weekly and yearly inventory KPIs for cycle counting and lost material (4Z).
- Present KPIs and investigations to management.
- Provide comprehensive analysis of M100 consumption, identify discrepancies and monitor the corrections with related areas.
- Collaborate with material planning and other groups to limit obsolete and slow moving materials with the implementation of reduction actions.
- Report/Present updates regularly for IM team, maintain contracts, systems access, and training documents.
Required
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Inventory Control and/or Material Flow Processes
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Finance
- Expert knowledge of Inventory control concepts & processes
- Expert knowledge of Logistics operation processes, inventory flows, MRP, and database management
- Expert knowledge of inventory and accounting relationships
- Expert knowledge of SAP/ ERP - MM & PP
- Experience with Microsoft Office, preferably advanced Excel/Access skills
- Process mapping experience with emphasis in ensuring physical inventory matches with systematic inventory movements
- SAP System Knowledge - Key User
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills; Self-starter and good interpersonal skills; Excellent organizational skills
- Some travel may be required
Preferred
- Master's degree (MBA)
- Automotive experience
- IT / programming experience
