Company Description
Volley Automation is a parking technology company that designs solutions for fully automated and adaptable parking infrastructure. Our goal is to create sustainable parking solutions that can be reconfigured and repurposed throughout a building's life. Our technology parks cars in far less garage space compared to traditional garages with a valet-style experience for all.
Role Description
Volley is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to support the development and deployment of our automated parking solution. The ideal candidate will be a skilled frontend or full-stack software engineer. You will be building out and leading development on a variety of core systems, including but not limited to: web and mobile applications for user and vehicle registration, garage operational management tools, and 3D visualization / scheduling applications.
You can design and architect software, are familiar with modern development practices, and are comfortable owning your portions of the application stack. Overall, you love to build things, find robust, durable solutions to complex technical problems, and want to make a real-world impact.
Responsibilities:
● Own the end-to-end design and implementation for all of Volley’s UI/UX-oriented applications, potentially including: user/vehicle registration and management, garage status and monitoring, 3D visualizations for scheduling algorithms/performance, et al. This may include cross-functional requirements gathering, with product management, design, and other developers to nail down designs and PRD’s, development and rapid prototyping, and finally, testing and simulation at scale to prove performance.
● May include using and enhancing simulation environments, as well as development of software to interface with our robot (AGV).
● Collaborate with fellow team members on application, architecture, and infrastructure decisions.
● Support system integration, test, and debug; participate in demonstrations and pilot deployments.
Basic Qualifications:
● Strong experience in common frontend technologies (e.g. JavaScript, Typescript, Node.js, React/Angular/Vue.js, HTML, CSS, Docker, Python, et al)
● Experience with mobile application development on iOS & Android devices (Swift/Objective-C, Java) preferred
● Experience with hybrid mobile application frameworks (e.g. React Native, Cordova, et al)
● Experience with automated software development practices and modern tools (Git, CI).
● Basic familiarity with good system architecture and OOP design principles. Strong system design experience and rapid prototyping skills preferred.
● BS (MS preferred) in CS/CE/EE or related discipline preferred.
● Creative problem-solving skills, a great sense of aesthetics, and user-centered design principles.
● Strong end-to-end ownership, going from prototype to fully-deployed and monitored production-level software. Bias towards action and shipping code.
● Enthusiasm for learning new technologies in any area of the stack, readiness to dive in on various efforts, and contributing where most needed.
● Team player without an ego, passionate about delivering a seamless user experience. Iterate new features quickly, while building in a sustainable, high quality methodology.
● Contribute to clean API design and collaborate with the backend design
● Bonus points if familiar with robotics software, like ROS
