Design & Technical Solutions (DTS), a division of Volt Information Sciences and Innova Solutions, is hiring a Technical Writer for Installation Instructions to work in a hybrid position. Candidate must be able to work onsite 3 days per week at the facility located in Dubuque, IA
As a Technical Writer, you will create instructions used by service technicians to install optional equipment on construction and forestry machines. You will interpret engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics, electrical schematics, parts lists, and 3D modeling to create installation instructions suitable for service technicians.
This is a full-time, contingent opportunity.
Requirements:

• Individuals must have a HS diploma or GED; an Associate’s degree or technical certification is highly preferred.
• Good communication skills, both speaking and writing.
• High attention to detail.
• Eager to acquire technical knowledge.
• Able to find answers to technical questions with minimal assistance.
• Able to prioritize and make progress on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Computer proficiency, especially the ability to master unfamiliar applications.

Desired experience with any of the following a plus:

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Experience using Adobe Photoshop, XML desktop publishing software, or 3D modeling software.
• Experience in the construction or forestry industries.
• Postsecondary degree (associate or bachelor) or technical certification.

Pay Rate: Between $18.00 to $26.00 per hour. *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
