Volt is immediately hiring a Forklift Driver in Benicia, CA.
As a Forklift Driver, you will :
- Maintain good attendance and a positive work attitude.
- Have knowledge and understanding of all safety guidelines and specific safety hazards associated with position.
- Have knowledge of and use all safety equipment required for the position.
- Need basic understanding of materials used in process and how they are to be handled.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a harmonious manner and interact in a cooperative way with supervisors and co-workers.
- Must wear or use all required personal protective equipment.
- Read, understand and adhere to rules and guidelines stated in the Employee Handbook.
- Understand Quality Standards and be able to make reasonable judgments and decisions regarding quality issues.
- PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Operate a forklift per established safety and work procedures including operator maintenance on the vehicle.
- Load LTL and FTL trucks in a timely manner following shipping procedures.
- Assist loading and help with proper banding, blocking, bracing and balancing.
- Perform quality inspections on finished goods that ensure proper product, size, quantity and packaging.
- Weigh up coils and building products, write weights on tags and turn in tags to shipping office.
This is a Fulltime opportunity. Monday-Friday, 6 : 30am-3 : 00pm - 40 hrs. a week
The ideal candidate will have :
- Ability to work independently.
- Standing for extended periods of time, heavy physical effort (i.e., lifting, pushing, pulling), walking, bending, working in various temperature conditions
- Flexibility for occasional hours during peak season
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Forklift experience
Pay Rate : $22.00 / Hour
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
