The Director of Financial Analytics, Internal Controls and Contracts Compliance is responsible for overseeing Volunteers of America Colorado’s financial analytics, internal controls, and contracts review and compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Leads financial analytics, planning and forecasting for the agency using cloud-based tools and Microsoft Excel.
· Prioritizes with the CFO financial analytics needed by program, with affordable housing as an ongoing top priority.
· Works with agency leadership staff on documenting results of financial analytics, including variance analysis.
· Makes strategic financial recommendations to the CFO and agency leadership staff on results of financial analytics.
· Leads the annual federally negotiated indirect rate calculations for the agency. Monitors indirect rate compliance throughout the year based on contracts terms.
· Leads the monthly MACA (Modified Administrative Cost Approach) calculations and processes for the Supportive Service for Veterans Families grant.
· Supports periodic audits of programs by funders, in partnership with the Controller and CFO.
· Leads the agency’s financial internal controls review and compliance processes throughout the year.
· Reviews and updates financial policies and procedures, based on industry best practices.
· Works with the CFO on enterprise risk management and internal controls enhancements.
· Reports on internal controls and enterprise risk management to the Audit and Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
· Leads the agency’s review and approval of contracts.
· Monitors contracts compliance throughout the year.
· Assist with planning, coordination and execution of other projects as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications of Position
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
· Minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications of Position
· Master’s Degree
· CPA
· Not for profit experience
· Governmental grant experience
