Job Posting for Van Driver at Volunteers of America Delaware Valley
SCOPE OF DUTIES
Operate agency vehicle(s) in accordance with the NJ State Regulations and Laws.
Coordinate the daily van schedule with appropriate program staff.
Pick up furniture/donations, deliver mail to and from facilities, as well as Administration Office pick up/deliveries, may include the removal of the seats from the Van for use in delivering and picking up furniture/donations.
Transport/escort clients to appointments as needed.
Monitor clients' behavior while in the van. Report problems to appropriate staff.
Maintain safe and clean operating environment in the van.
Ensure that appropriate safety restraints are worn at all times by driver of the van and all passengers.
Ensure all routine maintenance and inspections are complete.
Maintain records of mileage, passengers and trips. Report to supervisor as required.
Have van washed and waxed on a routine basis.
Satisfactory completion of agency Defensive Driving Training within the first three months of date of hire.
Interact (verbally and non-verbally) with clients, staff, and community members professionally with respect and courtesy.
Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with administrative policies and procedures.
Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and training sessions.

Experience
Required
Requires High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license with a good driving record/history and the ability to meet agency driver standards. Good interpersonal skills.
