JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
Responsible for the expedient and accurate posting of payments received. Candidate performs accurate submission of claims to various third-party commercial insurances, Medicare and/or Medicaid. Responsible for preparation of claims, payment posting for insured patients, accounts receivable, eligibility inquiries, answering phones, and assisting internal and external customers. Knowledge of explanation of benefits, electronic remittance advice, and insurance terminology required. Applicant must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Essential Functions
- Locate and print Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from insurance web portals and attach to corresponding batch.
- Create batches according to the payment source.
- Maintain an organized filing system based on batched.
- Complete payment entry in a timely and accurate manner.
- Responsible for all deposits, including both hard and EFT deposits, and ensuring they are appropriately posted, verified, documented, reconciled, and tracked.
- Meet closing deadlines as set by company.
- Complete Medicaid Prior AUthorizations

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptops, photocopiers, and smartphones.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Little travel is required for this position.
Required Education, Experience, or Eligibility Qualifications
- Associate degree plus two years of accounting or related field
or
- High School Diploma with four years of accounting or related field
- Highly proficient with the use of Microsoft Suite applications and database software
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree plus two years of accounting or related field
