Vontas helps transit companies create a smart, safe, reliable, accessible, and more connected public transit experience through real-time technology. We are a SaaS and hardware provider for public transit agencies. We supply solutions like on-vehicle passenger counting, real-time GPS and ETA information, payment solutions, as well as tools to simplify vehicle yard management.

What the tech team works on: We create on-board computers, electronic payment stations, instrumentation control panels, onboard radios, and GPS driven signage. We ship our hardware to our customers all over the country, but we also repair it.

Our Customer Returned Goods (CRG) team is looking for someone who can test, diagnose, repair as well as document in the electronic hardware space. There is also an opportunity to support our production testing area. This includes providing technical expertise, advice, recommendations and follow-up.

What You Need

Knowledge of electrical schematics, components, diagnosing, repairing and testing hardware. Finding and repairing boards and hardware items, testing and documenting will be that this positions primary responsibility. Experience with reading and understanding electrical schematics, soldering , using digital multi-meters, oscilloscope, and other testing equipment is key.

Job Tasks

• Testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of hardware failures
• Electronic repairs and production testing experience
• Database integrity through documentation and associated test information as well as managing revision levels
• Communication with service staff as well as other company members
• Identify and report on failure trends
• Review and understand drawings and test procedures
• Work instruction documentation
• Understanding of electronic theory
