Job Summary: Assist the Quality Control Manager in the development and implementation of methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Essential Functions: Illustrative duties may include, but are not restricted to, one or more of the following: Operate CMMs and assist in generation of CMM work instructions Perform all programming of CMMs using PC-DMIS software from Model Based Definition and 2D drawing inputs. Analyze and interpret blueprints, models, specifications, and other materials to determine requirements for testing and inspection. Support Quality Engineering in generation of FAI submittal package. Perform first article inspections Analyze inspection data to determine inspection results Support generation of nonconformance summary and participate in FAI layout engineering review meeting. Assist in inspection equipment selection process to enhance department inspection capabilities, throughput, and ensure continuous improvement. Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system. Interface with internal departments to engage in activities that ensure continuous control over material, services and products. Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: No Qualifications and Requirements: Education and Experience: Two-year college or university; and minimum 2 years of CMM programming experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced knowledge of CMM operations including setup, programming and controls in a PC-DMIS environment. The ability to define, diagnose and resolve problems related to CMM operation and programming. Ability to conduct Gage R&R and capability studies from the CMM as required. Knowledge of and ability to communicate CMM results in a clear and concise manner to audiences with differing knowledge levels. General knowledge of GD&T principles and their relation to inspection. PC-DMIS – Training Level 1 – required PC-DMIS – Training Level 2 & 3 - preferred Experience in Micro-Vu InSpec -preferred Experience with FaroArm -preferred Computer Skills: Microsoft Office – word, excel and power point Physical Requirements: Ability to accomplish goals with minimum supervision and detail orientated. Clear vision at close and mid distances Manual dexterity to operate general office equipment, such as phone, computer, printer, scanner, copy machine and fax. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds Working Conditions: Office environment (controlled climate). Quiet to moderate noise; occasional loud noise when in production area. Interfaces: Internal: Daily interaction with departments in the development and implementation of standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. External: May have customer interaction in FAIs review meetings Success Factors: Ability to insure quality standards and systems are in place for production products.
