Responsibilities:•The Safety Coordinator is responsible for assisting the EHS3 team in promoting a healthy and safe workplace at the designated facility. These duties will be accomplished by continuously improving, initiating and facilitating the safety practices, procedures and guidelines, as set out by Voyant Beauty’s EHS3 team. •Provide daily guidance, education and direction at the employee and supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach of EHS3 procedures and guidelines.•Assist in the identification of possible losses; evaluate risks, develop and create appropriate action plan to correct or prevent loses. Additionally, audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness.•Work in conjunction with onsite staffing agency personnel to ensure compliance of Voyant Beauty’s policies and safety requirements & procedures. •Maintain SOP’s for all safe work practices and equipment utilized in day-to-day training. •Review and update Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) as needed.•Conduct new employee orientation; emergency response training; and coordination of modular training programs for the Chatsworth site. •Act as a liaison between management and external safety and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal-OSHA) rules and regulations. Maintain timely communication and coordination with EHS3 team, Operations and General Manager regarding corrective actions and monthly safety inspections. •Must be able to handle sensitive related information in a confidential manner.•Accurate and timely maintenance of logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements:o Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures. o provide support for environmental department. o Ensure timely submission of applications and permit reporting requirements. o Participate in all safety incident investigations, field audits, reporting and corrective actions. o Maintain timely and accurate filing systems for training, safety incidents and investigations.•The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive. •Travel to the other local Voyant Beauty sites as necessary.•Additional duties, tasks or assignments as assigned by management.Preferred Skills and Qualifications:•High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred•Minimum 2 years experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish required.•Ability to take direction and work closely with team members – both within and across departments with minimal supervision.•Experience researching, analyzing findings, gathering data, compiling information, and preparing reports. Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail a must. •Perform duties in compliance with company and departmental policies and procedures.•Strong creative, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills.•Flexibility to work special schedules including overtime as needed to meet deadlines, facilitate training. Or conduct investigations including weekends (Saturday and Sunday).•Manage the development of multiple timelines simultaneously and be comfortable in a multi-tasking environment.•Intermediate computer skills (e.g. MS Office including Excel and Word) are essential•Flexible to change and open to constructive feedback.•Strong Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams.Physical Requirements:The physical requirements listed in this section include, but are not limited, to the motor/physical abilities and skills require of position in order to successfully undertake the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.
