The Bilingual Youth Care Worker (YCW) provides direct care supervision for youth residing in the designated VQ residential program. This role is responsible for fostering a safe environment that facilitates learning and behavioral management in a supportive manner in accordance with VQ, local state and federal policies and procedures.

The Pay Range For This Role Is
20 - 20 USD per hour(882 Juan Pirtle Center)

Position Summary
The Bilingual Youth Care Worker (YCW) provides direct care supervision for youth residing in the designated VQ residential program. This role is responsible for fostering a safe environment that facilitates learning and behavioral management in a supportive manner in accordance with VQ, local state and federal policies and procedures.
Essential Functions
- Conducts intake and property inventory upon youth’s arrival, including completion of paperwork, overview of program services, home and school facilities.
- Provides essential needs to youth such as, meals, clothing, hygiene products, shower and bedroom assignments.
- Develops positive rapport with youth while serving as a role model to create a safe and caring environment.
- Assists with the planning and coordination of special educational events, acculturation activities, holiday celebrations, recreational outings, school drop off/pick-ups, medical and dental appointments.
- Observes, reports, and documents identified behavior patterns and required information that merit documentation such as SELF, close observation, nightwatch checklist, bed check logs, outing logs, incident reports, transfers, etc.
- Ensures proper supervision of youth while maintaining a safe, clean and hazard-free facility by maintaining clean common areas, restrooms, kitchen, laundry, and outdoor areas.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- High school diploma or equivalent degree.
- 1 year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents in a social service and ORR setting, preferred but not required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Required to work a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Cleared background checks from appropriate entities.
- Must pass a drug test and physical.
- Able to obtain an FBI Level 1 clearance card, child abuse clearances, and state police background check.
- May lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds infrequently.
- Performs tasks that may involve standing or walking 50% of the day; sitting 50%of the day.
- May bend, stoop, reach and grasp as necessary.
- Must be able to obtain First Aid Certification (CPR) and Level 1 fingerprint clearance.
