We are seeking an accountable, resilient, and dependable Construction Estimator to join our team. We are willing to make higher offers based on senior-levels of experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- - Coordinate subcontractor bid lists with senior management for budget pricing and bidding.
- - Manage distribution of current design documents for subcontractor budgeting and bidding and ensure sufficient subcontractor input is received.
- - Review design documents, assemble comments and requests for additional information needed to provide a complete estimate.
- - Review and confirm that all previously approved document revisions have been incorporated into the design documents.
- - Attend pre-bid meetings and subcontractor site walk-throughs.
- - Visit sites to evaluate existing conditions and identify and capture any scope that may not be included in the design documents.
- - The ability to perform quantity take-offs, analysis, estimate, for all assigned trades and building systems.
- - Provide pricing for value engineering, alternatives, options, as required.
- - Prepare subcontractor leveling sheets per trade. Evaluate subcontractor input for scope inclusion. Identify scope gaps and overlaps.
- - Participate in internal estimate review meetings.
- - Lead the coordination of Operations input during the estimating and bidding process. Ensure that the detailed General Conditions/Requirements study and site logistics are incorporated into the estimate.
- - Develop, lead, or support the assembly of all estimates and bid documents required for a complete bid package.
- - Actively participate in estimate review meetings with architects, engineers, and owners and incorporate comments, feedback, and input into revised estimates. Assemble revised documents for final submission.
- - Train and manage Estimators, including performance evaluations for those staff assigned.
- - Support the development and enhancement of owner, architect, subcontractor, and vendor relations.
- - Analyze cost data, unit prices, general conditions and general requirements costs, and information that can be developed and used as a “rule of thumb” for all building systems estimated costs.
- - Provide input to constructability reviews and coordinate with Operations to ensure the constructability reviews are completed in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction or similar preferred.
- Eight or more years’ experience and knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, trade practices.
- - Must have conceptual ability to work with minimum information and quickly develop an understanding of the owner/architect requirements.
- - Should demonstrate a creative and succinct approach to a project.
- - Should have familiarity with the operating procedures and methods of other departments - Procurement, Cost, Accounting, etc.
- - Good leadership, verbal, and written skills.
- - Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- - Complete knowledge of the estimating documents and the ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of the documents.
- - Must be able to multitask and meet established deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
