Participate as a student researcher in an National Science Foundation grant assessing the use of wireless sensing and artificial intelligence in monitoring natural phenomena such as landslides and flooding, and infrastructure such as bridges and culverts. The work involves design of field components, construction of field testing apparatus, implementation of field tests and troubleshooting equipment. Work involves aspects of Civil, Environmental, and Manufacturing engineering, as well as computer science and coding. Both independent work and team work is expected, as well as participation in regular team meetings, trainings, and off-campus site work. Team work, communication skills, and technical training is provided. 1 year of college in an applicable degree program, or 1 year of experience in similar research work.
