We have a need for a full-time experienced O&M Supervisor in the Washington, DC area, with experience in a Research and Healthcare environment. All tools are provided.
 
Why the job exists
 
 The O&M Supervisor will be overseeing Research/ Healthcare facility operations, including the supervision of a work force (direct reports and subcontractors) responsible for operations, maintenance and repair of all facility systems and subsystems, and selected equipment typically found in a research facility.  Will have direct responsibility for the compliance with the Site-Specific Safety Plan and Quality Control Plan.
 
DUTIES
 
  • O&M Supervisor reports to the Contract Maintenance Manager (CMM)
  • Has overall responsibility for directing all maintenance and operating personnel, trade supervisors, and subcontractors covered by the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
  • The O&M Supervisor or their alternate(s) shall be responsible to respond directly torepresentatives designated by the FM concerning disposition of all scheduled maintenance work actions for which the contractor has potential responsibility, including actions requested, planned, pending, underway, completed or closed
  • Direct and develop associates to produce professional results and meet specifications
  • Maintain effective communication with the customer regarding work schedules and services being delivered.
  • Develop, Coordinate, and Manage work schedules and workflow.
  • Evaluate and justify supplies, equipment and purchases as necessary.
  • Ensures the facilities under his/her responsibility are safe and complies with all federal, state and local laws.
  • Implement human resource policies and practices, including the development of associates for promotional opportunities.
  • Create an environment that encourages teamwork, innovation and a strong commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Work within budgeted guidelines regarding labor costs, supplies and other expenses.
  • Demonstrate high energy, mobility, initiative, and drive to enhance operations and achieve financial success.

QUALIFICATIOns
 
  • Shall be able to direct, monitor, and oversee contractor staff necessary to execute all scheduled maintenance requirements and quality control described in this PWS IAW established regulatory requirements.
  • The O&M Supervisor should also have working experience with NFPA, EPA, and OSHA codes and standards and The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation
  • Excellent communication skills and a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Strong ability to plan, organize and direct associates to meet goals and objectives
  • An active leader regarding client communicate and Valiant programs and services related to the contract
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating and developing a team
Minimum Education
  • Progressive operations management experience in the Research/ Healthcare contracting industry
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good computer literacy
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of P&L's and budgets
  • High school diploma/ GED (Required)
 
  Specific Requirements and Preferences
 
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  •  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardized exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
 
Minimum Work Experience
 
The O&M Supervisor shall have seven (7) years' experience managing and supervising facility O&M projects, including five (5) years' experience managing and supervising facility O&M work at a medical facility.
The O&M Supervisor's experience shall also have five (5) years combined O&M work experience supervising multi-trade maintenance and/or construction crews.
Working knowledge of all applicable EPA & OSHA standards related to all the positions (Preferred)
 
Required Licenses and Certifications
 
Valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles (Required)
