TITLE: Division Order Analyst (Title commensurate by experience)

W&T Offshore is searching for an experienced Division Order Analyst. This is an exciting direct hire opportunity to work for an established upstream O&G company with 37 years of leadership in the Gulf of Mexico.
WORKING LOCATION: Houston Office - 5718 WESTHEIMER RD 77057
FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-Time
SCHEDULE: M-T, 9 hours/F, 4 hours (in-office)
FLSA STATUS: Salaried - Exempt
JOB SUMMARY: The Division Order Analyst is responsible for responsible determining royalty and working interest ownership through analysis of title documents and interest owner correspondence. The Analyst’s primary function is to maintain and update system and electronic records to reflect current record title ownership.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and interpret the provisions of deeds, leases, assignments, probate documents, contracts, legal decrees, division orders, joint operating agreements, contracts and other similar and related legal documents conveying title to oil and gas properties
  • Review title opinions, unitization orders and pooling declarations
  • Decide title curative or waiver of requirements in title opinions, coordinate the curing of title requirements with in-house and field Landmen, and obtain curative documents
  • Prepare Excel spreadsheets calculating divisions of interest, and establish and maintain well title ownership decks in an integrated Land and Accounting software system used by Accounting for the accurate billing of costs and payment of revenues
  • Process ownership changes upon receipt of deeds, leases, assignments, etc.
  • Resolve interest owner communications, payment and other land-related inquiries
  • Handle returned checks and correspondence as well as transfer order follow ups
  • Assist with 1099s, unclaimed and escheated fund research
  • Research and resolve title requirements for suspended interest owners
  • Verify, process and transmit Non-Operated Division Orders
  • Ensure that internal control procedures are maintained
  • Complete work timely to comply with contractual and statutory requirements
  • Create division orders, amended division orders and transfer orders
  • Communicate and interact effectively with internal counterparts in Land Operations, Lease Records, Revenue Accounting, Joint Interest Accounting and Marketing
  • Communicate externally with royalty and working interest owners and other business stakeholders as required
  • Assist department with gathering and analyzing data for acquisition or divestiture of company interests
  • Take on assignments for job-related special projects as may be needed

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCAITON & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, majoring in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Energy Management or Management, or equivalent land experience
  • 5 years of recent, relevant experience with an active oil and gas exploration company
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in land records, titles and leases, or previous experience in Division Order work
  • Gulf of Mexico division order experience
  • Good understanding of oil and gas accounting principles
  • Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of land concepts and division order responsibilities
  • Experience with BOLO land data system

PHYSICAL REQIREMENTS:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
